11th Aug - sunny spells am, becoming cloudy light rain evening, 23C, light SW

Stanford reservoir; a Little Egret was fishing by the dam. a good number of House Martins were feeding over the water and fields.  The male Pochard was near the dam and the female Mandarin Duck near the hide on the water, a Little Grebe was heard in the bay.  There was a good number of Warblers in the bushes again, indicating good passage.  A Raven flew over calling, Goldfinch, Linnet, Chaffinch and Reed Bunting were around.
A lot of Common Blue Butterflies were about today too.,

Cotesbach Landfill; during the afternoon there was 4 Green and 1 Common Sandpiper in the sand pit area. 9 Red Kite were over the landfill area.  Carl picked a a fresh juv Yellow-legged Gull.
