9th October - cloudy increasing, showers late, 11C, light SW

Willey; a flock of Goldfinches, 20-30 have been visiting a neighbours feeders over the last couple of weeks.  They tend to come early and not stay too long, they can be seen flying about.

Cotesbach landfill;  Shoveler -15 and Teal 20, were mostly roosting and asleep this morning.  A couple of Green Sandpipers were on the small pool.  While scanning the near corner a greenshank walked in to view, feeding along the waters edge.  This is quite a late record for this area and site.  It kept disappearing behind the island, then flew on to the shore out of view, so no record photo today.
