Willey; checked the feed station this morning, nothing new, in fact apparent less birds despite the colder weather. A hen Pheasant, single Coal Tit and two great Spotted Woodpeckers, with a third flying nearby.
Disappointingly no further sightings of Tree Sparrow since the other week.
A few Redwings now eating the few lower Holly berries which are left.
Cotesbach Landfill; a look here after lunch, plenty of Gulls again, including a third winter Yellow-legged Gull. Teal numbered 66 and Shoveler 34, only a couple of Mallard were present and the Shelduck flew over later (maybe to the Shawell Lagoons).
A green Woodpecker was heard, 20 Stock Doves came in to roost. Along the west side 10 Magpies were in the trees and I counted 109 Carrion Crows, with many more over the wider site not counted.
Starling roost site; estimated 30000 came in to roost. A couple of Sparrowhawk were in the area too.
