Willey; a neighbour flush a Green Sandpiper from a field pool.
It's very noticeable now how much the Rooks have refurbished many nests in the Rookery. However, if we get stormy weather before winters out, they will have to do it all again.
Stanford reservoir; a walk from the inlet to the main reed bed this afternoon. Four Lesser Redpolls were feeding on seed heads, but not very photogenic.
A mixed flock of Fieldfare and Redwings (c100 each), Chaffinch (c30), Starlings, Blackbirds and a Song Thrush were feeding on the mown wild flower area in the adjacent field.
Only one Great-crested Grebe seen, very murky water still, usual ducks, seemed a few more Gadwall today.
