2nd June - Sunny spells, mod SW, 18C

 Stanford reservoir; evening.

I went particularly to see/hear the Grasshopper Warbler I have missed so far, however as I arrived at the gate Chris Hubbard text out he could hear a Quail calling from the field the other side (Northants), so I decided to go there first and sure enough a calling Quail could be heard quit clearly and not too far off. However, it was in a grass ley crop wit no chance of spotting it.

Next over to the spillway-Barley field area for the Grasshopper Warbler, after a reasonable period of eating and listening it did 'reel' from the brambles, then flew over to the hedge and 'reeled' some more, before flying off along the Barley field.

So, two good birds to hear in the local area.
