23rd July - Mostly cloudy, light-mod NW breeze, 20C

Willey: Four Mistle Thrushes first thing feeding on the Perkins pasture, mid-morning seven flew west past the village toward Perkins fields.

Bittesby Country Park; afternoon.

A roaming feeding flock of c70 Goldfinches.  Several Skylarks on the meadows but keeping low out of the breeze, a calling Buzzard.  A hen Pheasant, and noisy Jay and a Green Woodpecker.

Butterflies included Common Blue, Green-veined, Small and Large Whites, Red Admiral, numerous Gatekeepers and  a worn Speckled wood.

Lilbourne Meadows; evening

Three Oystercatchers and redshanks, two Little Egrets,  Little Ringed Plovers and two Common Sandpipers.

A Sedge Warblers singing quietly, several Linnets, c70 Starlings feeding on the sheep fields.
