At last a day that could be described a pleasantly warm all day and in to the evening.
In the evening I checked out Shawell lagoons, a Common Sandpiper was present, a few Tufted Duck and about 60 gulls, mostly Lesser Black-backed and not much else on the water, 4 Swallows and several Sand martins hawked over head. Around the sides and hedges there was a Blackcap, Whitethroat and Sedge Warbler singing. Two Muntjac Deer scurried to thicker cover under the trees. On the ground I spotted an owl pellet, probably from a Tawny Owl.
A Green Woodpecker called and 2 male Reed Bunting were holding territory. A Stock Dove flew over passing the noisy Rookery. Now young Rooks are staring to move from the nests to the tree tops, calling and flapping.
Then, from under cover there came a lot of noise, almost barking, followed by high pitch scream-like sound. It could easily by quite disturbing to some folks, but is was only a vixen calling. Eventually, it came out of cover a little and I was able to get some quick record photos.
