Longmoor Lake; I decided to visit this area I have not been to before so see Short-eared Owls which have been reported. The lake is open, no tree surrounded, surround by rough pastures and newly planted woodland. On the lake were a good number of Wigeon, Shoveler, Mallard, Gadwall and 2 Teal. Two Little Grebe, a couple of Snipe and 19 Lapwings. A Kestrel was hunting.
Two Short-eared Owls were hunting over the rough area and showed on and off quite well, despite the poor light.
