22nd March - cloudy am, a few sunny intervals pm, but SW breeze freshening for a while, 13C

Willey; mid-morning c30 Fieldfares flew into tree tops along old railway cutting.  Late afternoon the Green Woodpecker was 'yaffling' behind the church and a Kestrel flew around quite low, seen here a couple of days ago too.
Last night (2300h) several Wigeon were heard calling as they flew over eastward.

Stanford reservoir; a look again this afternoon, still no Sand Martin.  A pair of Shelduck flew in, otherwise Duck numbers are definitely falling now.
A single Chiffchaff was calling and singing a little.
