1st Sept - sunny spells, 19C, light S

Willey;  This morning a very recent fledged Goldfinch was begging for food from a parent which was feeding on  thistle seeds.



Mid-day c25 Swallows on the telegraph wires.

Croft Hill; a look this afternoon, but it was pretty quiet with little about, a good number of House Martins and a few Swallows around the top.

There were several Small Copper butterflies out though.


Cotesbach Landfill; the main sightings were four Shoveler, three Common Sandpipers and a Ringed Plover..

Two Swifts were feeding along the boundary tree line and a single Sand Martin.
