28th Sept - sunny spells, light SSW, 14C. A ground frost last night.

Willey; a much nicer day than of late.  Eight Swallows on the telegraph wires, 1100h.

Cotesbach landfill; this morning a look here produced two Dunlin (adult and juv), the Ruff still and Green Sandpiper.   Hopefully Dave Goldsmith got some images suitable for his Facebook page.

Four Red Kites and Buzzard were present.  Shoveler numbered 11 (highest count here for me this autumn), plus the other usual ducks.

I checked again this evening (1830h), the waders were still present, however, two further Green Sandpipers were present making a total of three.

Also, a couple of Common Gulls were on the mud area.

Stanford reservoir; a quick visit to do a job here produced a Stonechat near the Spillway.
