Musselburgh; I made a short visit to the Esk estuary and shore area first thing.
The most notable bird was a drake Surf Scoter, seen on the sea, then flew east, fortunately landing again with 10 Velvet Scoter on the water giving good views.
A few Common Scoter, 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 3 Long-tailed Duck, plenty of Eider, Wigeon and Mallard.
Waders included Curlew, Turnstone, Redshank, Oystercatcher and Bar-tailed Godwit.
A great p”ace to visit.
