1st June - mostly sunny, 26C, light ESE

Willey; this evening at 2100h the Goldcrest was singing in the Church Yew and a pair of Blackbirds were dashing about with beaks full of food for their youngsters.

Cotesbach Landfill; late morning visit. We have four Canada Goose broods with 7, 6, 6 and 8 young respectively.   The two Egyptian Geese were around and the Shelduck family still intact.  The Mute Swan pair don’t seem to have settled on their nest this year. Seven Red Kites and Ravens were seen flying around.

Lilbourne Meadows;  this evening one brood of Mallard, six Gadwall, two Mute Swans, two Greylag Geese, a Lapwing pair.

On the pasture a flock of adult and juv Starlings, c100, were busy feeding, along with a male Yellow Wagtail.
