A beetle, to be identified, crawled along the fence post I was erecting.
It seems it is most likely Denticollis linearis, a widespread beetle.
Stanford reservoir; a look here this afternoon; all the regulars present with plenty of Warbler song and one, maybe two, Cuckoo.
A male Grey Wagtail was singing from the telegraph wires, and four Yellow Wagtails were in the spillway.
A beautiful female Broad-bodied Chaser was watrched.
