3rd Oct - Sunny, fresh SW, 15C

Cley; sea-watching again was not productive, just the regulars.  A few Curlew and Pink-footed Geese on the Eye field.  A flock of c100 each of Linnet and Goldfinches were moving and feeding along the shingle vegetation.

Holkham; meadows and beach area west of Lady Anne's Drive;  Passerines very scarce again due to the weather.  c100 Gadwall and 4+ :Little Grebes on the pool.  In the field  behind a Great Egret was searching a ditch.  Very few Pink-footed Geese around at this time (1100h), some flying in from high east.  A couple of Red Kites and Marsh Harriers were over the fields.

On the salt marsh a flock of Linnets, c200, were feeding.

Titchwell (afternoon); a look over the fresh marsh area, which has been re-moulded and looks really good for waders and other birds now.  

Plenty of birds out on the fresh marsh, a good number of Ruff, three Little Stints, Sanderling, Curlew, a Curlew Sandpiper, Dunlin, Ringed Plover, Golden Plover. a Snipe, Avocet and Lapwing.  A Water Rail was showing well and three House Martins were overhead feeding.

A Great Egret, Shoveler, Teal, Shelduck were also present.
