Stanford Reservoir; an afternoon visit and a chance to try the new scope - which performs amazing.
A Great White Egret was hunting in the reeds in Keepers Lodge bay. The usual duck, including c30 Teal and 2 female Red-Crested Pochard. A Green Sandpiper was on the dam.
A large flock of Long-tailed Tits, including Blue and Great , Goldcrests and Treecreepers. A small number of Redwings and Fieldfares, plus a few Blackbirds were busy on the Hawthorn berries.
Close to dusk a Buzzard flew over the inlet pool, river and field causing the Little Egrets to flush, I counted 44.
