6th April - cloudy am, sunny interrvals pm, light-mod ENE 10C

Misterton; this morning in the Church and Lake area several Nuthatch were calling loudly, Blackcap and Chiffchaff were singing, whilst a Great-spotted Woodpecker was drumming.  A Red Kite and Buzzard flew overhead. A Magpie was chasing 2 Jays.

Willey; a check on my feed station prior to midday produced a surprise, a female Brambling was present and feeding on the ground. 4 Tree Sparrow, 3+ Yellowhammer, Chaffinch, Greenfinch and Goldfinch were also present.  A couple of Buzzard circled overhead.

Cotesbach landfill; a visit here after lunch, all the usual Gulls, plus the 3rd winter Iceland Gull again.  It flew off from the sandpit area back to the landfill.  A couple of Red Kite were present too.

Stanford reservoir; heading here after news came of 2 Little Gulls being present, given these are pretty infrequent here and after one yesterday it would be interesting tom see more on patch.  These  2 were adults but not with as complete black hoods as yesterdays bird.  Again the birds were distant to me but some record photos were made despite this and the wind..

Occasionally a Common Tern settled on the water next to them.

Present near the reed bed was a Great White Egret and 3 Little Egret.  14 Goldeneye still. Green Sandpiper on the dam again.
