9th April - cloudy, a bit brighter late pm, moderate NE, 10C, but feeling cooler

Willey; I heard today that the first Swallow returning to the village was seen yesterday flying around the building they nest in.  Exactly the same date as last year.

This morning c40 Fieldfares were in the top spinney trees 0900h before moving off westward.

Stanford Reservoir ; again more Little Gull movement inland was reported, Chris found one here this morning.  I made it after lunch and it was still there, a Common Tern too.  Hoping more Gulls or other Terns would drop in, nine did.
At least 10 Goldeneye still, but Shovelers seemed to have dropped off to 5.  4-6 Teal still, these usually disappear, Gadwall are present, hopefully a pair or two will breed.

On the dam the Green Sandpiper and the passage Little-ringed Plover still.
