Willey; at least 50 Swallows around the village and on the wires, the few Chiffchaff in hedges too.
Cotesbach Landfill; an early visit (0630h) to the sand pit area, as soon as I arrived I could Curlew, there were two (one a juv) on the island, they quickly left eastward. Looking further I found the 3 Wood Sandpipers were still present and feeding (one was spotted at later at 1600h). A Common Sandpiper was also present again.
N ew Duck present included a Wigeon and a drake Gadwall, 8 Little grebe together. A single Red Kite flew over.
Bittesby lane lake; this area is undergoing major changes as more large warehousing is built on the adjacent land and eventually a country park. 5 Snipe rose from a flooded area, a Yellow Wagtail flew over calling, a Little Grebe was 'trilling' while a Chiffchaff fed in the bushes.
