Willey; a loose flock of Starlings, c50, flew over low after feeding on the local pastures
Cotesbach landfill; a quick check after lunch confirmed the five Ruddy Shelduck were still present and eight Red Kites.
Stanford reservoir; next a look here at the inlet end and along the north bank. On the field pools two Green Sandpipers were feeding. A couple of roving Tis flocks included Goldcrest, Treecreeper, Coal Tit, but not a Firecrest (one was netted and ringed here this morning). More Redwing and Fieldfares are now present, feasting on the berries. A Kestrel was hunting and a Buzzard was around the adjacent wood.
A Grey Heron was near the main reed bed, in which two Water Rails were noisy. Usual Ducks were present and two Little grebes were in Keepers bay. I then noticed two Kingfishers chasing each other over the water.
A nice grouping of fungi was next to the path growing out of 'chipped' wood from a past fallen tree blocking the path. I've not specifically identified them yet.
