19 Oct - dull cloudy, damp 15C, showers short pm

Willey; a Snipe was flushed from the top field early morning and a Jay was in the Long spinney near the top road junction.

Stanford Reservoir; I wasn’t planning on visiting but mid-morning news came that the ringers had caught a Dusky Warbler and were about to release it. So, I went to see if it could be seen again once released, I did not show again for the rest of the day.

A Water Rail called from the by-pass stream.

During the afternoon while searching still there were  8 Lesser Redpol feeding and 2 Golden Plover flew over.  Another birder spotted a Brambling before it flew off.
