Middleton Lakes RSPB; I decided to do a 'twitch' this afternoon and head off here hoping to see the Wryneck that has been on view. Fortunately it was still present and after some waiting it showed really well. I managed some photos which shows the delicate plumage off well.
Other birds seen included a Hobby, Great and Little Egret, Grey Heron, Teal, Gadwall, Shoveler, Lapwing, Green and great spotted Woodpeckers.
