1st December - SUnny, light NW, 6C

Willey; not many Redwings and Fieldfare obviously around today. At least five Greenfinch comiong to the feed station.  Disappointingly no Tree Sparrows seen at the feed station during November, hopefully this will change as winter progresses.

Stanford Hall Lake area; A Great Egret feeding along the lake side.  Wigeon, Gadwall, two Little Grebe, Mallard and Moorhen visible on the lake.

Stanford reservoir; the main news was the finding in the Gull roost last evening of four Black-necked Grebes, the last record here was in 2013.  I was able to find two feeding together, the others were likely around still as they were seen earlier by others.   Despite being the wrong side because of the light I managed some record photos.

Other notable sightings included two Stonechat in their usual place, two Greenfinch, two Kingfisher, a Jay, plenty of Fieldfares and Redwings.
