A busy day, one visit this afternoon.
Stanford reservoir; The recent rain has raised the water slightly so we have lost some of the mud and islets. 6 Oystercatchers were present today, sometimes 4 of them were very noisy together. At least 27 Common Terns were around the Bay Area. The wind seemed bring the hirundines in today and 40+ Swifts were feeding here. The Cuckoo called a few times in the distance, but not seen. Shelduck seemed to be in 3 pairs today, keeping out of each other's way, and 13 Gadwall were present. In the inlet bay 11 Ringed Plover were nervously feeding, often flying up. Several looked a little smaller and could have been the 'tundrea' sub-species that pass through on their way to the far north.
