3rd May - cloudy, steady, sometimes very breezy NE, 11C

This morning, early a Mistle Thrush was singing behind the village and a Yellow Wagtail flew.

This morning news that 4 Ruff and a Whimbrel had been seen at Stanford reservoir, however I could not get there until after lunch, by which time the Ruff had left, but I did find the Whimbrel.  Also, a Little Tern was with about 20 Common Tern, then 2 Arctic Terns flew in circled high, calling and quickly left.

As I walked along the path a particular call draw my attention above and 2 Mediterranean Gulls flew over low towards the inlet.  Near the inlet 6 Greenshank were still present preening and feeding, also 1 Dunlin.   Quite a few Pied Wagtails and 2 Yellow Wagtails were feeding on the islets,  couple each of Little Egret and Grey Heron were also present.

A large number of hirundines were in again, especially House Martins, c500, with Swallows and Sand Martins, but Swifts with them.
