11th May - sunny spells, clouding over, light souterly, 16C

A busy day but managed a look at Stanford reservoir in the evening.  3 Common Terns, no hoped for Black Tern though.  A female Gadwall had 4 ducklings which is good to see here.  A Red Kite moved over northward, looking as if it was hunting - I wonder if it has young to feed in the vicinity.  Swift numbers increased mid-week, as noted at Draycote Water the other day, here there was at least 10 this evening, with good numbers of House and Sand Martins and 10+ Swallows.
