21st Sept - sunny, 22C, mod SW

Willey; a Raven flew over the village calling, 1350h

Cotesbach landfill; a look this afternoon.  A Green Sandpiper, three Red Kites, four Pochard and small groups of Meadow Pipits (c15 in total) flew over.  A distant group of birds hawking had me thinking they were Swallows, but they turned out to be c40 Starlings hawking insects.

Stanford reservoir; a loo this evening, fairly quite (until paragliders decided to flew by) but the birds were disturbed.  A Common Sandpiper was on the dam, A Little Grebe on the settling pool and a Great-spotted Woodpecker was calling nearby.
