23rd Jan - Frost last night -3C. sunny am, then broken cloud, wintry shower, 2C, light SW

Willey; At the feed station this morning two Greenfinch, four Chaffinch, a Nuthatch and Great Spotted Woodpecker, two hen Pheasants
c30 Starlings over, a few Redwing and Fieldfares about, plus a Mistle Thrush feeding on the church lane pasture field, hopefully singing soon.

Cotesbach Landfill; a a look here after lunch, A pair of Shelduck were present and a single female too.  A pair of Egyptian Geese appeared over a bank, the drake behaving quite territorially, chasing off Mallards.  Teal, Shoveler, Tufted Ducks and two Mutes Swans were present. A single Red Kite, being hassled by a Raven and Rook.

A Green Sandpiper flew in and 32 Lapwing.
Five Ravens were around and a Kestrel was hunting along the rough edge.

Shawell lagoons;  a quick look here produced at least 500 Lapwing, I had counted 300 when a Fox decided to walk along the shore looking for food.  The Lapwings moved away just enough, whereas Teal, Great-crested Grebe and Tufted Duck all swan towards the Fox letting it know they knew it was there and mirrored its path along the shore.
