11th April - rain first thing, then cloudy and misty, very dank and dull, 9C, light NE

Ashby Parva; while the vehicle was being MOT'd I had a walk down Dunton Lane to the brook.  House Sparrows, Green and Great-spotted Woodpecker, a Kestrel and single Yellowhammer.  On a weedy field I noticed ~ 50 Linnet on the telegraph wires crossing the field, these were joined by more from the field giving a flock c100, which was nice to see.  Blackcap and Chiffchaff were singing.
