13th june - sunny spells, light SE, 25C

Frolesworth Manor Lake;  a morning check here especially for Starlings (hoping for a Rosy) which feed in the Horse paddocks, unfortunately today only two were seen.

Whitethroat, Blackcap were dinging, pairs of Linnet and Goldfinch around.  Swallows were collecting nest material.

Along the boundary ditch were 10+ Small Tortoiseshell, a Large Skipper and Meadow Browns.

Cotesbach Landfill;  A look here this morning did not produce too much.  A Raven was heard and the Shelduck family was still all present.  Red Kite numbered 15 over the landfill area.

Unfortunately the Mute Swan Pen which had been sitting did not look well yesterday and today it was looking worse and off the nest.  The Cob was sitting on the nest.  I doubt the Pen survives, but what of the nest outcome?

A Small Heath was found on the spoil area.
