4th June - cloudy, light W, 13C, some light rain evening

Stanford Reservoir; a look here after lunch. A pair of Shoveler, hopefully soon Tufted Duck and Gadwall ducklings will be seen.  However, Mink have been seen again this Spring and will take duck eggs.  A couple of Grey Heron were around.  A Red Kite flew over westward.  Four Common Tern were present today.

The cooler weather brought down a good number of House Martins c150, plus Swallow c20, Sand Martin and Swift c50.

A Great Spotted Woodpecker family were around the feed station and a Green Woodpecker near the dam.  Tree Sparrows were on the feeders, hopefully taking food to their young.

Plenty of Warbler activity, Song, nest building and food collection.

Cotesbach Landfill; a good number of Gulls about, but I’m sure there is less Great black-backed about currently.  A couple of Red Kite, 5 Gadwall again, two Oystercatcher,.
Also, c100 House Martins feeding low, with Swallows and the breeding Sand Martins.
