5th July - breezy - mod WSW, sunny spells, 19C

Willey; today another brood of Swallows fledged and could be seen sitting on the stable door waiting for food.  Also, the Pied Wagtails were still bring food to their young in the nest.

Shawell Lagoons; very quiet this morning. A single Cormorant, Great-Crested Grebe, an excited Green Woodpecker (no doubt juvs nearby) and nine Tufted Duck.  I’ve not seen any broods of Tufted here this year yet.

Cotesbach Landfill; a male and female Gadwall were new in and the immature Peregrine was sitting proudly on a spoil heap. Otherwise much the same today as recently.
