9th July - Cloudy, light drizle at times, 15C, NE light

Willey; Two Ravens over the Sheep fields this morning again.  A couple of Swifts over the village mid-morning.

Late morning the four Pied Wagtail chocks moved from their nest to the gutter showing and food begging.  After lunchtime I saw they had made it out onto the top of the roof. all except one, which was on the floor.  This one was much smaller than the others and was now being ignored by parents as they busily brought food for the others.  I placed it back in the gutter by the nest, the parents saw it again.

Cotesbach Landfill; this morning a Green Sandpiper still, the Oystercatcher with injured foot too.

Stanford reservoir; late afternoon visit.  A juv Cuckoo near the dam, two Common Sandpipers on the dam.  Eight Grey Wagtails and Kingfisher in the spillway.

A good number of hirundines feeding low over the water in the rain/drizzle, plus c40 Swifts.  A couple of Little Egret at the inlet end.

A female Gadwall with three ducklings in Keepers bay area.  Also, our only Common Tern nesting pair has a chick on the Blowers Lodge Bay raft.
