Cotesbach Landfill; a look here during the morning. At least 3 Purple Hairstreak were along the wood, plus a good number of commoner Butterflies, Dragonflies, Hoppers, etc.
Lesser Marsh Grasshopper (female)
A few House and Sand Martins were feeding over the sandpit area, also 3 Red Kites. GreyLag and Canada Geese numbered 114 and 57 respectively, along with 30+ Mallard, 4 Teal, 4 Shoveler, the Tufted Duck and single duckling still. 6 Little Grebe and a Grey Heron.. A few Gulls in the sandpit area, more sitting on the tipping area, a bit difficult to see though
Stanford reservoir; A Green and Common Sandpiper with 7 Grey Wagtails feeding in the spillway. 5 Common Terns over the reservoir. During the rain at least 200 House Martins and 3 Swift were present. In the orchard area 2 Whitethroat, 4+ Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff and Blackcap, Long-tailed Tits, 2 Reed Bunting and Jays. A single Wigeon on the dam among the Canada, Grey Lag Geese, Mallards and Tufted Duck.
