12th Aug - sunny spells, light SW breeze, 18C

Stanford reservoir; a brief look this morning. The eclipse drake Garganey on the dam, plenty of Canada and Grey lag Geese. a couple of Teal, a Wigeon, a Grey Heron and a single juv Common Tern.
A Grass Snake, about a metre, was sunning itself near the spillway.

Cotesbach Landfill; early evening visit. Mallard have increase to 87, also a couple of Shoveler and 6 Teal.  A Green Sandpiper was feeding too. Only a single Red Kite see, like the Gulls most are leaving earlier now for roost.
The Little Grebe are a puzzle, initially I counted 7 together, 2 adults and 5 juvs, however later I saw a group of 4 (2 ad and 2 juv) and a single adult and juv.  So maybe there are 8 present.

The single Tufted Duck duckling was seen with its mother.
