5th Oct - high cloud, light SE, 15C

Willey; mid-day 8 Swallows around the village.  Mistle Thrush and at least 4 Blackbirds feeding on Church Yew trees.  2 Nuthatch, a Coal Tit and other usual's at feed station.  Male Blackcap in church ;lane hedge, Goldcrest too.  Goldfinch (2) and Greenfinch (2) and 3 Chaffinch in the lane/feeder area.

Cotesbach landfill; afternoon visit -  a male Wheatear spotted feeding on the spoil heaps in the sandpit area and Green Sandpiper too.
A Caspian Gull spotted by Carl showed well too



Shawell Lagoons; a look here next - the juv Ruff still and 68 Lapwings.  A couple of Grey Herons were present causing the Gulls to be disturbed. So, when the were disturbed on another occasion I thought it was the Grey Herons again, but no, Carl spotted that a Great Egret had landed at the end of a spit, it was there only a minute before flying off south.



Plenty of Gulls present, and some LBBG colour rings on show, with at least 2 Yellow-legged Gulls showing well.
