9th Oct - sunny spells, mod -breezy WSW, 14C
Willey; 1330h, 12 Swallows and 4 House Martins feeding over village.
Brandon Marsh; afternoon walk around some of the reserve. The Black-necked grebe was still present, I believe a first site occurrence.
The water level is high at the moment which has reduced the visible edges but clearly good for the BNG and ducks. The usual ducks, Gadwall, Teal, Tufted, Mallard, Shoveler and Wigeon were present. A Kingfisher shot by and called as it passed the John Baldwin hide. Two Little Grebe were viewable from the Carlton hide. A Coal Tit was on the feeders along with Nuthatch, Chaffinch, Blue and Great Tits.
