1st Aug - mostly cloudy, short showers pm, 24C, light SSE

Croft Hill; a look here this morning. Nice to see Chaffinch, Linnet and Goldfinch families.  Swift and House Martins around the top. In the bushes were Blackcaps, Whitethroat and Lesser Whitethroat.

Cotesbach Landfill; after lunch fairly quiet, just the regulars.  Five Red Kites, a couple of Cormorant, three Little Grebes.

A caterpillar I need to check the identity of:

Stanford reservoir; a look here next. Five Yellow Wagtails, with Grey and Pied in the dam area.  Four Common Terns on the Tower railings, one was colour ringed. Yellow/black C.32 - I'll get the ringing info and find out details.

Othereise the expected Warblers and water birds,again a quite late summer afternoon.
