25th Aug - Very unseasonal weather as a storm heads NW. Heavy rain easing until midday, then the wind increased to strong gusty SW, 19C, some showers later.

Willey; 0830 a couple of Jays flew in to the BH wood.  c30 Swallows were feeding around the Sheep in the rain and a few more along a sheltered hedge line over cattle.

Stanford reservoir; a look mid-afternoon in the wind.  A Common Sandpiper on the dam, three Common Terns battling the wind and a few House martins too.  Pochard have increased to five, only one drake though.  Otherwise most things were keeping out of the wind.

Cotesbach Landfill; the sandpit area offered some shelter from the wind, but many birds were still sitting it out on the banks/islets  this evening there were three Ringed Plovers, two juvs and an adult.  Two Green Sandpipers and a Common Sandpiper.

A drake Pochard was new in, others were roosting out of the wind.  A few Teal and three Shoveler too. 

c100 House Martins were busy feeding over the water, plus a lesser number of Sand Martins.  Seven Goldfinch flew over.
