2nd Aug - sunny intervals, 24C, light-mod W

Colour ringed Common Tern C.32 seen yesterday - the first sighting since ringing as a pullus on 15/7/2016 at Bedfont Lakes, Greater London TQ079728 (119K NNW).


Willey; Six Mistle Thrushes again on the Sheep pasture to the west this morning.

Cotesbach landfill; a Green and Common Sandpiper this morning.

Eyebrook reservoir; A look this afternoon.  Osprey, Red Kite, Buzzard and Kestrel all present.  Waders included a Green Sandpiper, a Dunlin and Lapwings.  A Water Rail ran along the edge of the reeds back into cover.  Two Little Egrets were squabbling, with Grey Herons present too.  Usual Ducks and geese, only a single female Teal seen.

A single Whinchat was sitting atop vegetation.  A male Yellowhammer was still singing from its usual bush.
