17th June - sunny, hot 28C, light breeze

This morning and until early afternoon I visited a Vintage rally near Ashby Magna.  It was really good to see the vintage tractors, lorries and steam engines running.  With one eye on the sky I did notice a Red Kite and Buzzard to the west.

Shawell Lagoons; mis afternoon I spent at Shawell lagoons, the number of Gulls were quite good 200+, these were mostly Lesser-black Backed, with a handful of Herring Gulls.  Also, at least 6 Yellow-Legged Gulls, or 1st and 2nd summer age.  A single Little ringed Plover plus the other usual birds were seen.  In the distance over the landfill area 3 RedKites could be seen, one appeared to be carrying possibly food.

I then moved to another area, with Carl Baggot who had seen a pair of Peregrines earlier, they were still present and we good views were had.
