8th June - mostly cloudy, a few showers later, 18C, mod SW

Willey; this morning there was a flock of about 40 Starlings feeding on the sheep /cattle pasture to the east, most were of course juveniles.  A Jay was on the field to the east of the village, venturing out of the long spinney.  This evening a pair of Bullfinches ventured in to the flower garden for a short while, they looked super sitting on the gate before flying off in to the church yard.

Shawell lagoons; a look here this morning produced a single Little-ringed Plover, a Kestrel was hunting over the grassy area and a green Woodpecker was on the side bank, no doubt after ants. Little else was on the water apart from a few Coot, Tufted Duck and Mute Swans.  Sand Martins were feeding hear again, so they must have nrsts not too far away. A few Herring and lesser-black backed Gulls were on the bank or washing in the water after feeding at the local landfill.  Two Ravens flew over westward near to the landfill site.
