6th June - A wet and windy day, 12C

Today I made a trip to Rocester, Staffs to see the JCB production plant then to see the farm they have, 2000+acres, nearby at Farley.  I was hoping for a nice day as the area looked good for wildlife, but it was not.  On the farm they raised Red Deer for venison.  The hinds and stags were showing, some hinds had just given birth and occasionally a calf could be seen hiding in the grassy areas.

This area was also sheltered from the wind, at least 10 Swallows and 6 House martins were feeding here.
very little wildlife could be seen as the weather was pretty wet and windy, as we passed a lake I did notice there were several drake Mandarin Ducks among the mallard and at least one brood of Greylag Geese.  A little further along the track a Mistle Thrush was feeding before being disturbed and flew off in to the trees nearby.
