4th Sept - sunny spells, some spots rain, breezy W, 18C

Willey; c40 Swallows this morning around the fields to the east, many resting in a Ash tree top.

Stanford Reservoir;  a look this afternoon.  Around the dam and spillway Grey and Pied Wagtails, also 3 Yellow Wagtails, one Common Sandpiper feeding in the spillway.  A Green Sandpiper was on the field pool near the inlet.
A Red Kite and Kestrel was hunting over the adjacent stubble field. Over the reservoir at least 20 House Martins and 10+ Sand Martins.
The breeze was keeping passerines well hidden but a few Chiffchaff were heard.
