5th Sept - sunny spells, mod NW, 17 C

Willey; a group of about 15 Swallows were feeding over the sheep and cattle this morning.  a flock, c10 Mistle Thrush, flew from Church trees early afternoon.

Large fungi in pasture, forming half circle under Ash tree next to hedgerow.

Cotesbach Landfill;  a look here after lunch, tipping today so plenty of Gulls, but mostly distant or out of sight; BHG, LBBG, HG, GBBG and yellow-legged Gulls were seen.

On the pools, 12 Shoveler, 25 Teal, many Mallard, Grey Lag and Canada Geese and Little Grebes. A Cormorant dropped in for a short stay.  A Grey Heron was again stalking the shallows. Only a single Red Kite was seen, several Buzzard were in the area.

Finally, some shore and islets are beginning to show again as the water levels drops, so hopefully some waders may soon be stopping by soon.
