10th May - sunny spells, late pm shower, 14C, southerly then NE

Willey; 3 Mistle Theush were on the Sheep pasture first thing.

Cotesbach Landfill area; a look here after lunch, 6 Dunlin and 2 Ringed Plover were present. A Lapwing pair, with then female nest 'scrapping'.  A couple of male Shoveler were notable.  Plenty of Swallow, Sand and House martins still feeding. 10 Red Kites were present, one was feeding on the carcass of a dead Gull.

Being a little warmer today Speckled Wood, Orange-tip and Brimstone Butterflies were on the wing.





Stanford reservoir; a look here this evening, much cooler too, a Black Tern was still present, and only one Common Tern.  a Hobby was hawking again along the waters edge. Still a large number of Martins and Swallows, these will have to move on soon.

On the dam a couple of Yellow Wagtails and the 'Channel Wagtail' is still present.
