Willey; the Goldcrest and Coal Tit have been singing frequently in the Church trees of late. Mid-morning at least 4 Buzzards were circling over the village and a cock Pheasant was displaying in the top paddock.
Stanford reservoir; this evening several hundred hirundines again, more Swallows than lately, plenty of House and Sand Martins, at least 4 Swifts with them. Nothing new on the water or dam, but a Hobby was hawking along the Leices side. It settled in a distant tree, alas not facing me and part hidden, as the photo shows.
On the nearby field the male and female Wheatear were still present, 2 pairs of Red-legged Partridge and several feeding Linnet.
